About
this site
All students K-8 will participate
in the construction and continued development of the computer lab web site.
Each grade will collaborate and work together on their web page throughout
the year. This site is for the students, by the students. It
is a computer class project but the contents are not limited to computer
class. I will have my own projects to include that will be of interest
to other teachers and parents. And who knows what ideas the students
will come up with. It should be a lot of fun.
We are interested in communicating
or doing computer projects with other school computer classes.
The internet has so much to offer teachers that are integrating the use
of computers into the classroom. However, I have found very little for
computer
teachers at the elementary and middle school level. Teachers
interested in sharing lesson plans, project ideas, materials, web sites,
etc. can contact me via e-mail
or at the school.

About
the School Computer Lab
Christ Lutheran School has a computer lab with seventeen new networked
computers, a scanner,
three color printers, a color digital camera and several black & white
digital cameras, headphones
for each computer, internet access, a CD writer and a TVator for students
to view the teacher's
computer from the classroom television. Microphones are available for students
to record their
voice. Our school recently purchased a projector for the lab to use in
place of the TVator.
Computers are also in all the classrooms including pre-school, daycare
and the school library. All
K-8 classrooms also have printers and Tvators.

Program Offered at CLS
Weekly instructional computer class begins in Kindergarten. Students learn
computer skills that will
benefit them not only in high school and college but later when they enter
the job market. Students
learn how to use the Internet, while emphasizing internet safety and etiquette.
Proper keyboarding technique and skills begin in kindergarten and continue
each year through the
eighth grade. Students learn word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphic,
presentation, and
desktop publishing, applications along with Windows 98, and an overview
of DOS.
